For what purpose does God send rain and snow upon the earth? v. 10
At times, snow and freezing rain have a destructive effect. Does this still
serve God’s purposes? How?
During times of drought we pray for rain. During floods, we pray for an end
to the daily storms that cause the flooding. Both drought and floods destroy
crops. How can they serve God’s purposes?
Read Hebrews 1:3. Since Jesus upholds and governs the universe and all that
happens in it, can we ever correctly say that the weather or the climate is
out-of-control?
What insight do we gain from Isaiah 55:8–9?
The rain and the snow always, always accomplish the purposes for which God
sends them. That is God’s promise and solemn declaration. Because that it
true, what is true about God’s Word? v. 11
Missionaries who work in India report having to work for several decades
before one of the people to whom they have been witnessing confesses personal
faith in Christ Jesus. What encouragement do such missionaries receive from
verse 11?

Christ Jesus. What encouragement do you receive for your prayers and witness
from verse 11?
Does verse 11 mean that everyone who hears the Good News about Jesus will
believe in Him?
