Youth Ministry This page has information about: Our Redeemer Youth Quincy Joint Youth Ministry with Saint John June OAFC Weekend Free Concert and Other Camp CILCA events Our Redeemer Youth News ATTENTION ALL YOUTH MEMBERS and youth parents of ORLC: Please mark your calendar for Sunday, July 13 at 1:30 p.m. We need all youth and youth parents to attend the Special Voter’s Meeting to discuss and approve the Recreation Room for the youth group. Following the meeting we are planning to go to Midwest Paint and Flooring to look at paint and floor coverings. Once we are finished there we are heading to The Tower of Pizza for supper. Please bring $6.00 Lutheran Church of Saint John Youth Group July 9 at 6:30 pm - Board of Youth Meeting -Just a reminder…the Board of Youth will have a special planning meeting at St. John’s Youth Room. Please bring and concerns, ideas, etc. you would like to discuss with the group. July 13 — Water Games — 6:00 p.m. at St. John -Both age groups - Bring water guns, water balloons, anything else water-fight related, a snack to share with the group, a towel (if you think you may like to have one) and sunscreen. July 20 - No activity July 25 — Blues in the District Fund-raiser Six Flags Trip: August, 9 — TeenLYF and NewLYF will be going to Six Flags to spend the day and see the Newsboys. If you would still like to go, you need to let Jackie Fernandez (at St. John) know ASAP! Cost for this trip will be $45, which will cover your ticket, meals and travel. Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ (OAFC) Youth Summer Training Theme: "Agents of Christ - Secret No More" Dates: July 15-21, 2008 Place: St. John Lutheran Church & School, Champaign IL Contact: Mr. Daniel Barz, Office - 269/429-7521; Cell - 269/325-0564 Assistant to the Executive Director of Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ Plan to participate in the Youth Rally on July 15. It begins at 3:00 p.m. and concludes at 7:45 p.m. Then stay for summer training! Camp CILCA Events Free Concert — Thursday, August 7, 6:00 p.m. — Lloyd Garrelts (lead guitar player from the band Echelon) is having an outdoor concert at Camp CILCA at 6:00 p.m. Bring your own lawn chair and sit in a fully shaded area. Benches and chairs are also available at the camp. Free ice cream, soda, bottled water, and concert provided by Christian-Sangamon County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans! High School Week at Camp CILCA – It's not too late to sign up! There are the usual camp activities like swimming, boating, hiking, creek walking, etc, but there are also special activities including the ever-popular night-time Underground Church activity and relevant faith building topics for teens.
